Lauki ka halwa


Lauki (Opo Squash/bottle gourd): 1 small
Milk:1 liter
Sugar: 6-7 Tablespoon
Green Cardamom: 6-7
Assorted Nuts (Pistachios, Cashews,Almonds) : 1/4 Cup
Desi Ghee (Clarified Butter): 2 Tablespoon

Wash and peel lauki. Grate it. In a thick bottomed pan, heat milk. Add grated lauki to the milk. Turn the heat to low and let it cook till the milk almost dries up .
Add crushed green cardamom and sugar to the pan. Toss it gently so that it blends well with the lauki.
Turn off the heat and bring the halwa off the pan.
In another pan, heat two tablespoon of ghee. Add the assorted nuts and saute them till they turn a little golden brown. Take out 2 tablespoon of nuts for later use.Add the prepared halwa to the remaining  nuts and toss it for a minute or two.
Turn off the heat and transfer the halwa to a serving bowl. Garnish it with prepared nuts.

Your delicious Lauki ka halwa is ready to eat.
