Cooked Idlis: 8-10
Onion: 1 large
Dry Red Chilli: 2
Chana Daal: 1 tablespoon (soaked)
Mustard Seeds: 1/2 tablespoon
Curry Leaves: 10
Sambhar Masala Powder: 1 tablespoon
Salt to taste
Oil :3 tablespoon
Water: 3 tablespoon
Soak Chana daal for 2-3 hours. Alternately, you can microwave it for 6-7 minutes on high to soften the daal a bit.
Cut idlis into 4 equal pieces. Chop onion in thin long strips.
Take oil in a deep pan. Let oil heat a little bit.Add mustard seeds,curry leaves and dry red chillis.
Once the seeds stars spluttering, add chopped onions and soaked chana dal. Allow the onions to turn golden brown. Add salt and sambhar masala powder. Sprinkle some water.
Stir it so that masalas blend well. Add the chopped idlis and cook for 5-6 minutes.
Turn off the heat and bring it off the pan.
Serve it hot with any chutney of your choice.
Your delicious Masala idlis are ready to eat !
