Makhana: 100 gms
Desi Ghee: 2 tablespoon
Milk: 1 litre
Green Cardamom: 2

Take desi ghee in a pan. Roast makhanas till they turn golden brown. Take out the roasted makhanas and crush them into thick pieces.Bring them back in the pan and add milk and let it simmer on low flame till the milk thickens a bit and is reduced to almost 3/4th the quantity. This should take around 20 minutes or so. Add crushed green cardamom and sugar and bring it to boil one more time.
Bring it off the flame. Let it cool.
Your Makhane ki kheer is ready to eat. Garnish it with fine chopped pistachios and almonds.
Serve it hot or cold .Either way it tastes good.
